Vegas! How Sweet It Is...

Las Vegas is known for gluttony of all kinds, and its over-the-top desserts do not disappoint. So go ahead and over-indulge – it wouldn’t be a trip to Vegas if you didn’t. Can’t decide what to order? Here are 10 of the best sweets and desserts in town.

Red Velvet Cupcake at Sprinkles

Sprinkles-Cupcakes-and-Ice-Cream

When the Linq outdoor shopping center opened this year, it brought Sprinkles, the cupcake phenomenon that swept neighboring California. Its signature treat is a delicious red velvet flavor that melts in your mouth, topped with rich cream cheese topping. Other popular flavors include cinnamon sugar, strawberry, vanilla – and tiny little doggie cupcakes topped with an edible bone.

Sticky Toffee Pudding at Gordon Ramsay Steak

Thank you, Gordon Ramsay, for bringing sticky toffee pudding to America. His gooey, yummy sweet date pudding cake smothered in brown sugar toffee is an absolute must for ending a decadent dinner at Gordon Ramsay Steak at the Paris Hotel Casino. And for added Ramsay signature flair, the cake is served with a “stick” of brown butter ice-cream in the shape of a stick of butter.

Tapioca Square with Mango at Bacchanal Buffet

Bacchanal’s island of desserts is famous, thanks to its photogenic square-shaped bites of sugary goodness, including butterscotch cookies, cake pops, chocolate lava cake, peanut butter cup cupcakes, cinnamon buns, and mini soufflés. There’s also a gelato sundae bar, so save plenty of room for dessert when you dig into the buffet at mealtime. My favorite treat? A tapioca dessert topped with an indescribably yummy mango sauce. Dig in!

Sweet Treats at Sugar Factory

Sugar Factory at Planet Hollywood

The Sugar Factory store at Planet Hollywood is a temple to all things sweet and sinful. Looking to cool down on a hot day? Round up your friends and share a signature 60oz goblet drink like the Oceans Blue, which features gummy sharks swimming an a blue sea of Hpnotiq, Blueberry Schnapps, Stoli Vodka, and Bacardi Razz. There’s something here to please people of all ages. This hotspot also features dessert snow cones, gelato, and signature milkshakes such as the Fluffer Nutter made with vanilla soft serve, chocolate, peanut butter, marshmallow fluff, whipped cream, and, of course, peanut butter cups.

Lemon Ricotta Cookies at Giada
Giada De Laurentiis is fast becoming famous for her delicious ever-changing dessert list at her new Cromwell namesake. But her rotating menu of sweets has nothing on her staple: lemon ricotta cookies. Pair with the creative flavors of sorbet and gelato, or Giada’s sinful white chocolate coffee.

Monte Carlo’s BLVD Creamery has the answer for indecisive ice cream fanatics: a flight of four flavors. Good thing, as there are so many interesting ones to try, such as watermelon jalapeno, grape, and maple with bacon bits. And since it’s Vegas, there are plenty of boozy options (IDs required), including Prosecco, Merlot, and Horchata with Rum.

Peanut Butter Tart at Rao’s

Homemade buckeyes are my weakness around the holidays, and Rao’s at Caesars Palace blows ‘em out of the water with its famous peanut butter tart. It starts with a dizzyingly delicious peanut butter mousse – and is topped with a perfect graham cracker crust and creamy homemade chocolate ganache.

Ya can’t miss it – Jean Philippe Patisserie beckons chocoholics cruising Bellagio with an enormous fountain of, yes, chocolate. His pastries are like little pieces of art, but for a real treat, make your own dessert crepe. Choose from decadent berry filling, or go for the popular apple or bananas foster. Don’t forget the crème, chocolate, or dulce de leche on top.

Mexican Chocolate Doughnut at O Face Doughnuts

Head downtown for some of the best doughnuts in Vegas, at O Face, home to fun O-shaped options like Cherry Coke Float and Captain Crunch with milk crème filling. If you’re looking for the ultimate indulgence, grab an extra napkin and dig into the gooey Mexican Chocolate. The dough is fried to perfection, smothered with melt-in-your-mouth chocolate, and topped with little balls of chocolate.

Peanut Butter Sundae at Serendipity 3

Serendipity is most well known for its Frrrozen Hot Chocolate, but my personal favorite is its peanut butter sundae. Originally from NYC, the Caesars Palace locale carries on the tradition of digging into a seamlessly bottomless sundae at this classic ice-cream emporium. The peanut butter sundae is a sinful “classic” made of perfect ice-cream, homemade whipped cream, and the very best of peanut butter deliciousness.
