Looking for pre-show drinks or a trendy spot to meet up with friends? Here's our guide to the swankiest lounges in Las Vegas.

Vegas nightlife certainly has an anchor in nightclubs, but there are plenty of options for those who prefer to lounge.

1. Mandarin Bar

Local A-listers head to the spectacular Mandarin Bar, for its stunning Strip views via floor-to-ceiling windows, and elite crowd. Located on the 23rd floor of the five-star Mandarin Oriental, expect to be escorted into the hotel and led to the interior decorated-elevator. Once inside the bar, it feels like the kind of place you’d order champagne, but its cocktails are tasty, too. They have an interesting take on classics such as Bellinis or an Old Fashioned, plus entirely new concoctions like the The Golden Leaf Martini.

2. Hyde Bellagio

Before it turns into a nightclub at 10 pm, Hyde is a gorgeous lounge that opens onto Bellagio’s fountains; the doors swing open when the weather is nice. Order a cocktail (the spicy Love Unit is highly recommended), and take in the show, which is breathtaking with Paris’s Eiffel Tower as the background. Hungry? Limited food is available early evening.

3. Chandelier Bar

Inside the Chandelier Bar (2nd Floor)

Cosmopolitan’s swankiest lounge, the three-story bar nestled in an enormous chandelier made of two million crystals, Chandelier Bar remains the hip hotel’s most famous landmark. Each level has different cocktails, with the secluded middle one, which is popular with locals, serving as a bit of a molecular gastronomy lab. Its off-the-menu crowd-pleaser? The Verbena, which has a flower that numbs the tongue. The top floor offers views of the casino floor, easy mingling, and a crowd of people that was headed to Marquee but didn’t want to leave the party.

Delano’s rooftop lounge is a longtime favorite of locals looking for a bar/lounge atmosphere. Those without vertigo may step out onto the 64th floor balcony in warm weather. Inside, nosh on fancy bar food from neighboring Rivea like Beef sliders and Calamari fritters, and imbibe champagne cocktails and James Bond inspired martinis. A DJ spins nightly.

5. Lily Bar & Lounge

Lily’s plush seating, dark mood lighting, and stiff hand-crafted cocktails make this a heady date spot, or fun way to unwind after a hectic day at work (or night on the town). The menu is constantly changing, but its signature, the Lily, remains sweet, with an enormous flower garnish and hints of vanilla and ground clove. A recent standout was the Moscato Spritz, with Moscato grape and sparkling wine. The mixologists love working with tequila, which they aren’t afraid of using in abundance. Drink slowly.

6. Foxtail
Chic lounge Foxtail keeps with the SLS’ theme of edgy glamour. Stunning chandeliers crown the ceiling, while foxy dancers groove in human-sized birdcages. Street art wall decor in the style of calligraphy is lit up by LED light fixture over the dance floor of the upscale, 8,000-square-foot nightspot. Expect a few surprises—the open-air lounge also stretches out to the pool, and there are even gaming tables inside, if in the mood for some classic blackjack.

7. Parasol Up/Down
Comprising an upscale center bar for the books, Parasol Up and Parasol Down serve an extensive wine list, full bar, and a fun non-nightclub atmosphere in a five-star setting. Signature cocktails use creativity, such as the Pear-a-sol and a cucumber treat mixed with ginger. The “Up” upstairs floor is comfortable and spacious, and catches some of the crowd headed to Tryst for a livelier atmosphere. Head “Down” the escalator for a more intimate setting – and gorgeous views of the Lake of Dreams from a private patio during good weather.

8. Bond

Part of the Cosmopolitan lounge triumvirate, Bond is the liveliest, set near the Strip-side main doors. Go-go dancers hang out with the guests, while bartenders serve infamously stiff cocktails. Open to the casino floor, it’s easy to saddle up to the bar, whose ambiance changes from chill to high-energy at 11 pm.

9. Laguna Champagne Bar
Palazzo’s champagne-focused lounge on the casino floor of Palazzo offers six types of bubbly by the glass, plus an extensive red and white wine selection. The champagne by the bottle list is fun to scan, with prices reaching sky-high to $9,500. Or spring for a cocktail; bubbly-based signature options include old-fashioned varieties like the Kir Royale, plus unique libations like the Art Nuvo with vodka and fresh strawberry puree, and several options with the taste of elderflower.

10. Vesper

Vesper Bar Cosmopolitan

The open lounge near check-in in Cosmopolitan’s lobby, Vesper is serious about its hand-crafted cocktails, starting with the magnificent liquor cabinet that serves as the centerpiece behind the bar. The menu changes seasonally, and the mixologists have fun naming their new concoctions; Chai One On and One Night in Bangkok are recent ones that worked. The bartenders take care in making all cocktails the right way, so be bold with your orders. Then there’s the people-watching. From the clothes to the tipsy young ‘uns, there’s always something to see.
