If you are in search of the perfect slice, check out Pizza Rock.

Located just off Fremont Street on the corner of Ogden and 3rd Street, this lively bar and restaurant caters to appetites big and small. Tony Gemignani, chef/owner/partner, features award-winning American and Italian pizzas cooked in four different ovens positioned in separate locations throughout the restaurant. Ranging from Neapolitan, Classic American, Roman, Gluten Free, Classic Italian, and Sicilian, there is certainly one or more pie that will appeal to even the most finicky foodie in your group. If pizza just isn’t your thing, there is also a selection of antipasti, salads, soups, calzones, stromobli, burgers/sandwiches, and Italian dinners to choose from.

Margherita pizza

We thoroughly enjoyed the Napoletana-style Margherita pizza which won the World Pizza Cup in Naples, Italy. This pie, cooked in a 900-degree wood burning oven, showcases a smoky-flavored crust that is crisp yet chewy. Topped with San Marzano tomatoes, Mozzarella Fior de Latte, basil, extra virgin olive oil and sea salt, it disappeared in a jiffy and they only make 73 per day!

Pizza Rock Meatballs

We also sampled the meatballs which were divine. The marinara sauce left us wanting to lick the plate clean. If only we were not in public…

If you don’t have time to sit down for a meal, check out the Take Out window. You can order soda, pizza by the slice, stromboli, calzone, panini, and their yummy meatballs right from the little window on 3rd Street. Some things are worth making the time for, however. So, go on inside, check out the lofty industrial-chic interior, sing along to some rock and roll, and sip on one of their 30 craft beers. The friendly staff will take good care of you and you will leave with a happy belly.
